James River Film Festival highlight!
The Richmond Indigenous Gourd Orchestra is
performing a live soundtrack to the silent film,
“Nanook of the North”, on Saturday, April 5, 2008.

This is the second time the Gourd Orchestra has performed to this
incredible film. The context will be very different... the acoustics
at the Firehouse Theatre are much different than those at the
Plant Zero Event Space where the Orchestra premiered this
composition last year.
The 2008 performance will engage the audience with
the creation of a few sound effects and build upon
the success of their previous orchestration for
NANOOK OF THE NORTH!

I'm going to this opening tonight.
If I were in your neighborhood I'd definitely be intrigued by the show you are planning to attend. Nanook was even better than I expected. I hope to post some video of the performance later this week.
